Discovering Amigurumi: Minature Crocheted Animals

20141231_134048To help cope with a death in the family yesterday, I stayed up till 3 am crocheting. Crocheting a whimsical little owl for a grandchild worked for my emotions.  This first crocheted amigurumi ( the term is from Japan) turned out well. It was based on a FREE Moji-Moji Design Pattern – Nesting Rainbow Owls. I used cotton and a size 4 hook because I did not have a 3.5 or 3.75it stands about 3″ tall. I am excited to discover a whole new realm of possibilities from stuffed animals and dolls, finger  puppets, magnets to key chains.
